Door II

Entrance to Institute of German Studies of the University of Szczecin building, originally ducal stable and manege building, established ca. 1600.

Btw., if you know any good site (in english) about that building, please share it in a comment :)

  1. Oh, that's wonderful! I'd love to hear the stories that doorway has to tell...

  3. The arch is classic, a look at an era where craftsmanship mattered a lot...I wonder if the arch was the best way to keep the opening strong since there was no structural steel in 1600 for strength, and the curvature of the arch was stronger by design. Nice capture!

  6. Wow, that takes some beating. I wonder how many thousands of pairs of feet have walked across that threshold? Nice lighting - it looks almost like a painting.
